We live in a world saturated with business tips, tricks and advice that you can get your hands on with just the click of a mouse. It’s a blessing and a burden all at the same time.

The blessing is that there is so much information readily available that you can access and implement into your business straight away. The burden is that although a lot of these tips and tricks are great, most people take that information and implement it as an individual task instead of looking at it from a holistic perspective and understanding how these tasks affect their overall business strategy. 

Unfortunately, by implementing a task without understanding the impact on other sales and marketing activity, you most likely won’t get the results you’re seeking.

Have you been told you have to post on social media so you just post on social media?

Have you read about the importance of sending out emails to your email list so you give that a go too?

Have you heard video is a game changer so that’s in the back of your mind to try as well?

And so on… and so on.

If this sounds like you and you’re feeling overwhelmed and frustrated because you’re not getting the results you expected then I’m here to tell you… Don’t worry! Yes, these activities are all really important parts of your business, but you’re just missing the final (vital) piece to the puzzle.

These are just tasks. What is the reason, intention or strategy behind doing each of them in your business?  

Is it to build relationships or show your expertise? 

Strategy is having intention on the outcome of each task, knowing what you want your audience to do next, and understanding how to guide them to take the action you want them to.

How will you increase the visibility and brand awareness for your business? How will you then make your audience consider your services? How will you then turn that consideration into leading them to make a decision that what you’re offering is what they need and they purchase from you?

The tasks are like Lego blocks. You may have all the pieces but if they’re just laying out on their own and not connected with the next piece then you’re not making much progress. It’s the strategy that connects all these pieces together that builds the tower.

Don’t do things for the sake of it. You’re wasting time and fluffing about in overwhelm wondering why it’s not working for you! 

The thing with strategy is that it’s not one size fits all. What works for one person, may not work for you but here’s where I suggest you start. 

TURN YOUR TASKS INTO INTENTIONS

What is your intended outcome of this task? Is it to build relationships? Show your expertise? Get interest or enquiries? Sales?

What do you want people to do next? Is it to sign up to your mailing list? Visit your website? Download your free checklist? To book an enquiry call? Purchase your services? The list goes on…

What will that do? What’s next?

How will you increase brand awareness and build your audience? 

How will you take your audience on the journey to considering your services? 

How will you then turn that consideration into a purchase? 

How will you WOW the people that say yes? 

How will you nurture and re-market to the people who say no?
